Earl Ramer of Largo, Florida went home to be with the Lord on January 14, 2024. He was born on January 18, 1942 in Sewickley, Pennsylvania and was the son of Charles and Thelma Ramer, deceased. Earl grew up in Ambridge, Pennsylvania and graduated from Ambridge High School in 1960.
Earl joined the US Army Corps upon graduation and completed basic training in Ft. Knox, Kentucky. He was a Korean War veteran, stationed in South Korea for several years. After returning to the states, he began a career as a surveyor, and started his own company creating plats and surveys in South Carolina. He then moved to Largo, Florida with his wife Faye in the 1970’s and worked for several engineering firms as a surveyor, all while working his way up to managing over 40 field surveyors. During this time, he acquired a family of close friends of the surveyors and civil engineering staff. He was an avid NASCAR fan and traveled to races with these friends for many years. Earl also loved bass fishing and belonged to a bass club where he attended tournaments which were held at various lakes throughout Florida. He was a loyal Steelers football fan and seldom missed a game. His hobby was collecting NASCAR souvenir die cast race cars and obtaining autographs from the drivers. His home was lined with display cases of cars and Steelers memorabilia.
Earl was a longtime member and Deacon of the First Baptist Church of Indian Rocks in Largo, Florida serving its members and the local community. Wherever help was needed, Earl was there to lend a helping hand. He was a dedicated Pack A Sac volunteer since 2012 and proudly sported his Pack A Sac hat outside of church to promote the ministry. Earl loved this ministry and his co-volunteers dearly. He was always so funny and everyone loved his dry wit and humor. Even through his medical challenges, he pushed himself to be with his friends and to feed the chronically hungry children.
Earl was married to his wife Faye for forty years when she went to be with the Lord in March of 2018. He found love again and married his surviving spouse, Tina, in December of 2021. She dedicated two loving years providing daily care to ensure he could fight his ongoing battle with cancer. His family and friends will never forget him or stop missing him.
Earl is survived by his loving wife, Tina Ramer of Seminole, Florida; Son, Warren Ramer and wife Melissa Ramer of Anderson, South Carolina; Brother George Kurash Jr. and his wife Antionette; Brother Kenneth Kurash of Pennsylvania and sister-n-law Deborah Ramer. He also had brothers Ron Ramer and Raymond Kurash, deceased, and a sister Mary Kurash Ramer, deceased. He has five grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at First Baptist Church of Indian Rocks, 12685 Ulmerton Rd. Largo, Florida on February 11, 2024 at 2:00pm. Interment will be held on February 12, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at the Bay Pines National Cemetery, 10000 Bay Pines Blvd N. St Petersburg, Florida.

Oh how we will miss Earl! He was such a precious person. He lived out his gospel daily spreading his love for people.
Tina, you were blessed to have him by your side even if only for a short while. You know he’s in the arms of Jesus now, his pain and suffering behind him. Praise God!
