Ed Wowas of Clearwater passed away Thursday February 18, 2021 at the age of 74. He was born in Hazard, Kentucky as one of 9 children (6 sisters and 2 brothers) and came to Florida in 1974. He proudly served in the United States Navy from 1963 to 1967 and was a Vietnam veteran. In his later years, he was an avid fisherman and bowler and loved poker.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Olive; his daughters Mechelle Cappel (Steven Cappel) and Tracy Wowas (Alfred Alonzo); and six grandchildren Clara Cappel, Christopher Cappel, Edward Wowas IV, Alana Wowas, Liam Alonzo, and Manuel Alonzo. He is preceded in death by his son Edward Wowas III.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, February 23, 2021. Visitation will be held at 2PM with the service to follow at 3PM at Veterans Funeral Care, 830 N. Belcher Road, Clearwater, Florida 33765.
