Condolences to the entire DeJesus family on the loss of its patriarch. Prayers are with him and all the other family members.
Late finding this VA posting; I had been hoping to reconnect with Chief DeJesus for many years, and sadly I found this obit. As a 2nd Class Petty Officer (Parachute Rigger), I worked with the chief for several years before he was transfered from my duty station. He was indeed the finest individual I had known while serving my 6-year tour.I can only offer my deepest condolences to the entire DeJesus family.
Like Ken Reich, I, too, served with Chief DeJesus at NAS Willow Grove, PA in AIMD’s 800 Division.
It was an honor to work for Chief DeJesus. He greatly impacted my Navy career by sending me to Advanced Training for oxygen & liquid oxygen repairs for console and miniature oxygen regulators. More importantly, Chief DeJesus was a character builder, always guiding our workmates to be team members and to never make mistakes in our work, inspecting and packing parachutes, life rafts, life jackets, survival vests and numerous pieces of aircrew survival equipment. I met his family in their home. He was a devoted husband and father. Due to his leadership, I am pleased to know that Eduardo advanced to Senior Chief , PRCS, before his retirement. I always wished to meet him again. I regret that did not happen in this life.
Best wishes to the DeJesus Family,
PRCM Denbeigh Forbes, USN, (Ret.)
