Edward J. Keel, 87, was born on December 30, 1928 to Edward and Mary Keel (Hansford) in Altha, Florida. He passed away on July 14, 2016 at Oak Tree Assisted Living Facility surrounded by his loving family. Edward is survived by his loving wife, Majorie Keel (NeSmith), of 52 years. Additionally he is survived by sons John (Kimberly) Keel of Largo, FL and Keith Keel of St. Petersburg, FL; brother James Keel; sisters Shirley Miaoulis and Mary Emma Basford; grandchildren Aiden and Shawn; and one great-granddaughter Caroline.
A celebration of life will be held at the Armed Forces History Museum in Largo, Florida on Tuesday, August 2 at 11:00 am followed by a graveside service at Bay Pines National Cemetery at 2:15 pm with MacDill Air Force Base providing military honors .
The Keel family would like to thank Suncoast Hospice for the outstanding care they provided to Edward and the family. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Suncoast Hospice.
