Edward Van Faasen

Edward V. Faasen of N. Redington Beach, Florida passed away on July 12, 2017 to be with his loved Lois and God. Born in Grand Rapids, MI Edward and his wife Lois moved to Ft. Lauderdale in 1970 and opened a Real Estate office. In 1976 he was hired by Charles Cheezem and opened Cheezem & Associates in Madeira Beach as Broker in charge of condo & trade in resales. In 1980 he joined Curtin & Associates as Sales Manager. He was the Sales Manager for Twitty & Co., then Sales Manager for Jack Collins, Inc., then Salesmanager for Plumlee Realty later he was a Broker/Associate with Redington Realty.

Ed was a member of the National Association of Realtors, Suncoast Association of Realtors, Life member Million Dollar Sales Club, Member of the U.S. Power Sq., American Legion Post 273 and N. Redington Beach Advisory Board.

He was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War and served in Korea and Japan. His wife of 48 years, Lois, predeceased him and his survivors include four children, Kimberly Cooper of Sandusky, Ohio, Edward III of Grand Rapids, MI; Stephanie Buxbaum of St. Petersburg, FL; Tamara Gaunt of Byron Center, MI; four step children, Debera Singer of New Buffalo, MI; Susan Weinish of New York, NY; Mark Tilleman of Denver, CO; Mike Tilleman of Helotis, TX; twelve grandchildren, two great-granddaughters and two great grandsons.

He will be interred with his wife Lois at Sarasota National Cemetery with Air Force Honors from MacDill AFB.

    My Dad always had great things to say about Uncle Ed, his Mom’s brother. The times I saw him were always good times with many smiles. So sorry he is gone, thinking of my Dad, Kim and the rest of the family. Hope uncle Ed is hanging out with his sister and wife. 💙

    I had only known Ed for a very short time but in that time I had grown very fond of him…I found Ed very easy to talk to and loved to listen to his life stories…he was well traveled and I think that he had a very full life and now I believe he is at peace with his true love…..RIP from Dave and Sarah
