Elizabeth Joan Anderson, age 90, passed on June 22, 2022.
She was born on December 30,1931 in Ludington Michigan to her parents;
Enoch and Nora (Haucke) Anderson. Elizabeth was the oldest of their two children.
Her father, Enoch, who was mayor of Ludington suddenly passed when Elizabeth was
just 5 yrs. old. This tough event initiated her independence and she wonderfully maintained
that independence most of her life. She was strong-willed as well; and was another great
attribute in many ways, to her life thereon.
Elizabeth, her mother Nora and younger brother Enoch had many relatives thankfully that they
were close with, and were a large part of their younger yrs and lives. Her mother Nora
remarried later in life to Harry Peterson; who became a wonderful father and grandfather to the
entire family.
Elizabeth, known as “Liz” by her family and friends graduated from Ludington High School
in 1950. She was voted “All Around Girl” senior year.
In high school, she was active in the school band, was a majorette and was on their
Homecoming Court.
She went on to earn a full scholarship to Stetson University, specifically the “bass violin”. A true
wonder as the instrument was basically larger than her (so petite). She could play many
instruments, including piano. Liz was an active member too, of the Tri Delta sorority while at
Stetson.
From there she returned back to Ludington where she met and then married Earl Anderson on
October 16, 1954. She made it simple….she was an “Anderson” and married an “Anderson”.
They had 3 children; Dave, Lynn and Karen, who they loved very much.
The family moved to Saginaw MI in 1964, where Liz took a career working as the Librarian and
Administrator at Merrill Park Elementary, also where her children attended school.
Liz had a passion for books, loved to read so the position was a perfect fit for her.
She retired in 1982.
After 20+ yrs in Saginaw, Earl had traveled to Florida often for his career in Real Estate and
Sales, and loving the warm weather there ‘year-round’….one day said Liz lets move to FL.
Earl had found a wonderful spot in St. Petersburg, near St Pete Beach, called Isla Del Sol.
In 1983, with all 3 children out of school and married; sold their home and moved to this
beautiful community just down from Isla Del Sol Yacht and Country Club.
An absolute beautiful setting with views of both water and golf course.
Liz had a genuinely engaging personality and made friends easily. She developed many
wonderful friendships throughout her life and in past~current yrs living at Isla.
She was an active tennis player at the Isla Del Sol Tennis Club and played in many
Doubles Tournaments throughout St. Pete area, even winning tournaments.
She also enjoyed and was actively involved with many social gatherings~parties, through their
condo association.
Some of Liz’s favorite past time things were reading (books/newspaper), crossword puzzles,
doing puzzles, birds (loved Cardinals), music or playing piano, pool/beach, visiting with her
children and grandchildren and last but not least enjoying her CC and gingers!!
Elizabeth was a very loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She truly loved and
adored all her family. Her and Earl were married 57 years. Earl passed on in 2011.
In her final years, her family, especially her children (and spouses) devoted themselves to
caring for her and her well being. In her final days, her wish was granted and had all 3 children
with her; Dave, Lynn and Karen at her side.

Liz was a precious friend who came into my life only a short time ago, but in that time she became a friend who l loved dearly. She was kind and loving and so very caring.
