Mary Elizabeth Manley, 91, of Winter Haven, Florida, formerly of Plant City, Florida, went home to be with Jesus on Friday, October 19, 2018. Elizabeth was born in Cordova, Alabama and was the widow of Hugh Manley Sr.
She was a retired property manager in Birmingham, Alabama – where she lived for over 30 years. She was also a member of the First Baptist Church of Plant City. Elizabeth loved the beach and the crashing surf brought peace and comfort. She loved cooking and enjoyed serving her family meals of love, veggies and cornbread.
Elizabeth loved to laugh, enjoy a good cup of hot coffee, and read romantic western novels. She loved the Gaither Music videos and would listen to the repeatedly.
Elizabeth is survived by her two sons, Gary Simms and Hugh Manley Jr., seven grandchildren (Joshua Aguiar, Michael Manley, Mariah Manley, Madison Manley, Hannah Manley, Lauren Simms, Nathan Simms and four great-grand children (Daphne Manley, Penelope Manley, Paislee Manley, Chandler Manley).
A Funeral Service will be held at 9:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 30th at The First Baptist Church of Plant City, 503 N Palmer St, Plant City, Fl 33563, with Pastor John Foxx officiating. The Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. at the Florida National Cemetery, 6502 SW 102nd Ave, Bushnell, FL.
