Elmer “Jack” White, Jr.


Elmer “Jack” White Jr. of Sun City Center, FL, formerly of Ravenswood, WV passed away on April 27, at the age of 91.

Elmer was born in Chattaroy, WV to the late Elmer White, Sr and Hollie Connelly White. He enlisted in the United States Army and served as a Sergeant in the Korean War. He married Frances White on October 31, 1953 and together they raised two children. He retired from Century Aluminum in 1990 following 32 years of service, where he was a member of the United Steelworkers Local 5668. He was also the co-owner of Mom Perry’s Bounty Table from 1977-1990. Jack was a charter member of the Ravenswood Church of God at Turkey Run Lake in Ravenswood, WV and more recently attended Wimauma Community Church of God in Wimauma, FL.

Elmer is survived by his wife Frances; daughter Tonda K. White of Ravenswood, WV; son Jack Kevin (Laura Gorecki) White of Spokane, WA; sisters Nancy (David) Savage of Lindenwood, IL, Rose Maynard of Huntington, WV, and Bessie Jackson of Mount Sterling, OH; grandchildren Quintana (Luke) Clark of Tampa, FL, Perry Scott (Crystal) White of Huntington, WV, MacKenzie White of Spokane, WA, and Zachary White of Spokane, WA; and great-grandchildren Teagan and Kezia Clark.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Howard and George White; and sisters Elsie and Laura White, Columbia Bryant, and Elizabeth Hatfield.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 2nd from 1 to 2 pm at Wimauma Community Church of God. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 pm with interment following at Lake Wimauma Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations may be made to Life Path Hospice at 3725 Upper Creek Dr, Ruskin, FL 33573.
