Emanuel “Manny” Richardson

Emanuel (“Manny”) Richardson, 83, of Clearwater, FL, died at his home under hospice care on April 6, 2024. Emanuel was born on November 29, 1940, in Saint Francisville, Louisiana, the son of Eddie and Turlie (Harris) Richardson.

Manny moved to Illinois to live with his sister, Edna, at an early age. Manny had a strong work ethic that he passed onto his children. Manny aspired to become a truck driver and own a semi-truck; he was proud when he achieved both goals.

He came to Florida in 1992, he worked at a trucking company and as a Charter bus driver until his retirement in 2002. Manny enjoyed talking to and meeting people; the charter bus position was a perfect fit for “Mr. Sociable.”

Manny loved fishing, boats, the outdoors, fixing things and playing dominoes and cards with his family. Another favorite past time of Manny was watching football with his wife – his favorite teams were LSU and New Orlean Saints.

Manny is survived by his wife, Stella Richardson, his children; Gwendolyn Gilbert, Emanuel (Michelle) Richardson, Jr, Jeannean Lezine, Cynthia (Reggie) Roberts, Desiree (Kevin) Ross, Gregory (Kelly) Holley, Jr, Erica Edwards, siblings; Luther (Betty) Richardson, Wilhelmina Anderson, Corine Parker, and Jacquelyn (Clinton) Burrell, twenty-three grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews, and his long-time best friend, Truman McQueen.

He was preceded in death by both his parents, four siblings; Edna Harris, Polly Hunter, Joe B. Richardson, and Eddie Richardson, Jr, his late wife; Gertrude Richardson and his beloved daughter; Angie Richardson.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 19th, 2024, at 11:00 am and the funeral service starts at 12:00 pm at Countryside Christian Church (1850 N. McMullen Booth Rd; Clearwater, FL 33759).
Burial will follow directly after service – Calvary Catholic Cemetery (5233-118th Ave N; Clearwater, FL 33760)

Manny’s Celebration of Life Reception will begin at 3:00 pm at Walsingham Park, Shelter #8 (12615 102nd Ave; Seminole, FL 33778).
