Estella Mabel Daywalt, 84, of Pinellas Park passed away July 6, 2016. Estella was born November 29, 1931 in Youngstown, Ohio, a daughter of the late Charles R. Daywalt and Catherine Jones Daywalt. Estella was a corporal in the United States Army, serving during the Korean Conflict on the island of Okinawa. After her military service, she was a homemaker raising her children and then later returned to nursing. She had a 20 year career in nursing as the head geriatric nurse at St. Anthony’s Hospital in St. Petersburg, Florida. Estella was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and was an avid quilter. She spent most of her retired time compassionately taking care of her parents. Her family remember her as a dedicated daughter, wonderful aunt and a proud and supportive mother.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother; Charles Robert Daywalt, Jr. Survivors include two sons; Stephen M. Blaschak and his wife Betty of Cocoa, FL and Charles Blaschak and his wife Mary of Bailey, CO, one daughter; Christine Gossman and her husband Mike of Allentown, PA, six grandchildren; Sam Blaschak, Michael Blaschak, Melissa Chelius, Micalene Charles, Isaac Charles, and Joey Charles, 3 great-grandchildren; Aiden Tingen, Charlotte and George Chelius, two nieces; Christine Daywalt and Cathy Ford, and three nephews; Mark Daywalt, Kenny Daywalt and Drew Daywalt.
A visitation will be held Saturday July 9th, 2016 from 11-1 PM at Veterans Funeral Care, 15381 Roosevelt Blvd., Clearwater, FL 33760. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday July 20th 2016 at 10 AM at Bay Pines National Cemetery.
