Eugene “Tony” Proctor Lyle Jr. US Navy-Gulf War Veteran funeral service is 3:00 pm, Saturday, May 28, 2016 at the 1st United Methodist Church of Seffner, 1310 South Kingsway Road, Seffner, Florida with Pastor Terry Shaughnessy and the United States Navy Military Honors Team, officiating, The family will receive friends at the church following the service. Burial will take place at Florida National Cemetery, 6502 SW 102nd Avenue, Bushnell, Florida 33513 later this summer.
Born on September 28, 1959 in Bradenton, Florida to Eugene Proctor and Elaine (Rife) Lyle, Tony passed away peacefully at the James A. Haley VA Hospital, Tampa, Florida on May 18, 2016 surrounded by his family. He was a business owner in the property management field and served our nation in the United States Navy during the Gulf War. During his US Navy career, he was awarded the Sea Service Deployment Ribbon; .45 caliber Sharpshooter Ribbon with 2 devices; Good Conduct Medal with 2 devices; Battle “E” Ribbon; US Navy and Marine Corps Service Ribbon; M-16 Marksman ship Ribbon; Meritorious Unit Commendation; Navy Unit Law Enforcement Ribbon and completed the Optical man Class “A” School. His rank was OP2C.
Preceded in death by his father, Eugene, Tony is survived by his loving family: his mother, Elaine Lyle; his brother, Jon Lyle and his wife, Dawn; Sister, Tonya Johnson and husband, Dwayne; his three children: Ashley, Eugene and Elliot Lyle; nieces, Crystal, Tabitha, Lori, Sara; his grandchildren; Walker and Cyrus and his fiancée, Debbie Bielmaier.
