Dear mom…you and I had a crazy relationship. One minute best friends, the next minute grumping at each other. It’s how we rolled. I will miss both the best friend part and the grumping part. Thank you for the wonderful talk we had together on Monday the 30th of July. You looked so good and we could have talked for hours. Now I wish we had. It was not meant to be. Please give Daddy, Nanny, Grandpa, Uncle Harry, Uncle Carl and all the others gone before us a hug and a smile from me. I miss them all as I will miss you. Thank you for being my mom. Love you always, Lori**
Grandmama, I love you and will always have you in my heart.I know much you wanted one of my medals from gymnastics but you didn’t need one because you already had enough to brag about me! Ha, anyways you have won a medal in my heart .You will still watch me grow both in gymnastics and life and I will never forget you as my crazy and loving Grandmama. Love, Hugs, and Kisses,Your Sweet Qiao
Sasha (as I knew her) was one of a kind. She loved her family deeply and it showed. I will always remember her spunky spirit and her stories. I was lucky enough to have been gifted a few pieces of her beloved green dishwater. Iwill always remember her and her love for family when I look at it.
May you Rest In Peace with your beloved Richard.
2018 has been a sad year for our family. And now another branch on the Nordin Family Tree has broken off. Not a good feeling to lose a first cousin. My heart goes out to Lori, who I had a chance to get closer with at the family reunion in 2013. I was sad I could not attend Evelyn’s 80th birthday party last summer but I had my own caregiving to do. I’m really sorry I missed that. I have fond memories of our early days in Lake Ronkonkoma, Long Island. We sure had a lot of fun as youngsters in the summertime. Sleep well Evie, “Sov i ro.” (Swedish) ❤️🕊
Dearest Mrs. Hotchkiss,
I have many fond childhood memories of you, your hubby, and daughter. I am so blessed to have had your family as my next door neighbor. Lori was my first non-family best friend; my first sleepover; and my first Barbie Doll buddy. I was such a tom-boy, so hyperactive, and my large family was always so loud, crazy, and competitive. Whereas, your home was calm, quiet, and deeply personal. You helped me to experience another side of home life and to realize that being “still” was a good thing. And, I will NEVER forget how “YOU” brought Lori and I back together again after we had some misunderstanding/fight which lasted for nearly a year because we were both so terribly stubborn! …your mediation gave us healing and over the years remained a forever friendship. Lessons learned. (Then, you guys moved away and life was never the same.)
I thank you for your uncanny awareness and kind ways. RIP.
💔
We always smile in our house when ‘Lori’s mum’ is mentioned. She added a huge amount of colour to our visits to Florida. Sending much love to all of her friends and family who must be feeling very sad. Love Pip x
Lori, my heart breaks for your loss. Your mom lived a blessed life and now she is at peace with your dad. She will always be apart of you. I wish I could be with you and give you a great big hug. ❤️
I’m so sorry for Sasha’s family especially her son David Hotchkiss he and I love her so much she was like a mother to me and was always there for us ♥️she will live forever in our hearts she’s one of the most amazing people I’ve ever known
Dear Lori – It’s more than 10 years since I met your lovely dad and your mom Sasha – but I have fond memories of the afternoon we spent together at their house. I send heartfelt best wishes to you and all your family here – and join you in giving all those who have gone a hug and a smile… Love Zoe
I was very shocked, surprised and saddened to hear of Evelyn’s passing. I wish to convey my condolences to the entire Hotchkiss family and to my dear friend Lori Hilton.
What I will remember most about both Evelyn and Richard was just how friendly and welcoming they were. Lori would bring a pack of young people to their house like a kid brings home strays and they never seemed to bat an eye about it. And in fact, we would all call them “Mom & Dad” too. Just good, nice, friendly folks. I always thought Lori was lucky for having the “Cool Parents”.
I hope Evelyn’s entire family finds comfort in the many wonderful memories that they have, and acknowledge her lasting spirit through the lesson’s that she taught, in each of their daily lives.
