PAGE, Evelyn Victoria, of Indian Shores passed away peacefully at home on March 28, 2023 at the age of 90.
Evelyn was born in Washington, D.C. on November 28,1932, the daughter of John A. and Odette Ateek. After briefly living in Bridgeport, Connecticut, her family moved to St. Petersburg where she attended St. Petersburg Junior College and then went on to the University of Florida to earn her BS degree in education.
Evelyn started her career as a junior high school teacher. Though very young, she possessed natural leadership skills and an indomitable spirit, and soon became known for bravely taking on even the most difficult classrooms. She quickly earned the respect and admiration of students and faculty alike.
After marrying and starting a family, she moved to south Texas and became a real estate broker, starting several successful real estate companies. Relocating back to Florida, this brilliant businesswoman and entrepreneur founded Beach & Bay Realty and, along with her son, became one of the pioneering developers of luxury real estate projects along the Gulf beaches. Her projects include more than 35 waterfront condominiums as well as hotel and restaurant properties on Clearwater Beach.
Though small in stature, Evelyn was a fearless force of nature and her strong and determined presence and positive attitude uplifted and encouraged all who knew her. With laser focus, she accomplished every goal she ever reached for, while mentoring and encouraging many others to reach their full potential.
Evelyn treasured family above all else and was a loving and loyal protector. She is survived by her daughter Pamela Page, son, Stephen John (Shelly) Page, grandsons Stephen Page II and Daniel Page, granddaughter Jaclyn (Pierre) Gidel, and sisters Helen (Rowe) Hudson and Olga LoVerne. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers George Ateek and Louis Ateek.
Our beautiful and beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend will be honored at a Memorial Service planned on April 12th, 2023 at 3pm at Anona United Methodist Church, 13233 Indian Rocks Road. Bright clothing is encouraged. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
