Everett George Blair, 84, of Seminole, Florida, is now “absent from the body and present with the Lord” upon passing away on March 18, 2018, at Comprehensive Healthcare of Clearwater, after a six-month struggle to recover from a stroke.
He was a beloved husband of 59 years to Marian who survived him for three years, and dearly loved father to both his surviving children, Mike and Sharon, and grandfather to their combined five children. He is also survived by three younger brothers, their families, and the family of his older brother Kendall who predeceased him.
Everett was born in Polo, Illinois, graduated high school there, then went on to graduate from Iowa State University with an engineering degree. He enlisted in the United States Army on Feb 5, 1952, was stationed in the Panama Canal Zone, and met Marian there. He was employed as a mechanical engineer briefly by Sunstrand in Rockford, Illinois, and Warner Electric before moving to Indiana to work for Schwitzer until retirement.
Upon retirement, he and Marian moved to Florida and worked at D&D Missionary Homes, volunteered with the Gideons, attended Grace Bible Church, added many new friends to their circle, and traveled both internationally and in their RV to visit family and friends.
Interment was in Dixon, Illinois, followed by a Cub game at Wrigley Field to lovingly remember our life-long Cub fan. Memorial donations may be made to the Gideons International-St. Petersburg West Campus, P.O. Box 11555, St. Petersburg, FL 33733 to fund Bibles, or to San Blas Medical Mission-Kuna Ag Foundation, P.O. Box 1039, Penney Farms, FL 32079.

Marian and Family:
Sorry to hear of Everett’s passing and thank you for preparing us with our prior conversations.
I’ll miss Everett’s joy and wisdom. He and I had fun together on trips to Brazil and England. I’ll
also never forget going to Chicago with him. He will be in my thoughts.
May God Bless you all. Everett is at rest.

Mike, Emily, Jack and I are sad to learn of Everett’s passing, yet comforted to know he is at peace. He will be dearly missed!
I have many fond memories of Everett as a child and enjoyed seeing him on his visits to Atlanta in my adult years. Emily and Jack know him from breakfasts at Cracker Barrel and still play with the beautiful Chinese Checker set he lovingly handmade for them. Our family will treasure it always.
May you know our thoughts are with you and that we send our love to all the Blairs!
Tiffany

Marian,
Thank you, Marian, for sharing Everett’s homegoing with Kathy and myself – a beautiful description of his peaceful step into heaven.
We have very fond memories of yourself and Everett. We remember Everett’s love of humor in life and his devotion to the Lord. Our prayers for you and your extended family.
Dear Marian. Thanks for letting me know of Everett’s passing. I love that you used Paul’s absolute and trustworthy epitaph: “Absent from the body, present with the Lord!” I left the Canal Zone in March 1957, so it has been 61 years since I last saw either of you. Although the memory part of my brain is old and decrepit, it still recalls lots of everyday and special times. He was EG then, and I was Wes. I enjoyed serving with him, I enjoyed worship and fellowship with him at Balboa Baptist. I enjoyed hanging out and doing fun stuff with him and our wonderful friends. What a joyful guy! How appropriate that he should choose you to be his lifelong mate. Thanks for your friendship, Marian. May the peace and assurance of our resurrection, because our Savior is already risen, be your comfort and hope. In Christ’s love, Paul
To Everett’s Family:

Marian, I am so glad to have met you and Everett and thank you both for your time invested in my life. I’ll never forget Everett’s jesting and sweet spirit and his beautiful smile. I’m so glad to know him and eagerly await seeing him again. You are in my thoughts and prayers “Mom”.
Dear Marion and Blair family,

Dear Marian and his two beautiful children Mike and Sharon, Myra and I knew Everett from the time we moved next door with our pup Emily. Everett rescued Emily many times when she crawled under the fence. When she died he shed many tears. He was my golf buddy and on occasion he would beat me but not often. He is probably still practicing his game in Haven so he can beat me a long time from now.
