Grandpa Brasure,
Thank you for making the hard choices, by God’s hand, that have allowed the Brasure bloodline to continue. We remain grateful to you for making this happen. Things would have been far easier for you had you chosen to take the path of least resistance at an early age. As a boy, you demonstrated bravery by choosing to climb away from the challenges life presented you by seeking refuge, training, a chance to mature in the United States Navy. I will continue to treasure the lessons you learned during this formative time in your life. These aspects of your development were some of the most significant lessons you taught me. Service builds character & I’m grateful you started your journey by serving others.
Thank you for the pain, suffering, & sacrifice that came along with firmly setting blue collar roots within the metro-Detroit & Macomb County labor market. Your undeniable positive work ethic set a standard for performance for your oldest son to emulate, & ultimately provided hope to future generations as we know these traits to be inherent in Brasure blood. You cultivated skills based on the needs of the community you chose to serve. You cemented your place in your time as a “fixer” who savored the opportunity to present solutions for challenging technical problems. Years ago, you planted an influential seed in a boy’s mind about the value of material joining… welding. As a result, hundreds of trained welders have entered the workforce adequately trained to provide a good living for their families. None of that would have happened without your influence. I’m confident you can appreciate that from your current perspective beside our King!
The measure of a man’s character is defined by the choice-by-choice journey one takes amid the increasing presence of temptation as we grow towards God’s purpose for us. I’m grateful that you were brave enough to make hard choices, fully accept consequences when they manifested, & that you did this while maintaining unwavering faith in Jesus Christ & His purpose for your life. To me, you measure up as an honorable member of the “Greatest Generation” who continues to influence the choices of our bloodline. You achieved the generational goal all men should shoot for… being a better father than your father was to you. I assure you that we will continue this trend. Thank you for being man enough to set that standard for us to follow.
My favorite trait of yours is one I hope to reflect on the people I love. You were a no-nonsense type of fella who picked up with you exactly where he left off last time. No matter how long it had been since our last chat, it never mattered. We shared a continuity of understanding that transcended time & is unlike what I’ve experience with most folks. I understand this to be the value of being a genuine individual. If we could all cast away the identities we generate in an effort to please the world, we would be far closer to God’s purpose for our lives. Thank you for modeling this for me. I will do my best to keep this practice alive.
I look forward to our next meeting, in the presence of the Lord & in the company of those who have been waiting for us. We will have much to discuss & even more to do, but for now thank you for your impact on our lives. We will never forget. Until next time, I love you!
God Bless,

Uncle Fon Jr (Bubba) will be so missed. What a wonderful man. Prayers for his family as they learn to live without him. We love you Uncle Bubba!James Lee and Karen ❤
Uncle Fon Jr or as many called him, Bubba was such a gentle soul, soft spoken but yet firm. Always a hard worker and so very talented. One of the very most handsome men ever, such a gentleman as well. I know I will miss him as so many of the family will. He’s rejoicing now and with his Lord.
