Francisco Lopez-Medina, of Auburndale, FL., went to his heavenly home on Sunday March 5, 2023. He was a beloved father and grandfather, a formidable friend, and a Christian.
Franky or “Panchito” as he was commonly known was born on November 15, 1935, to Juan Lopez-Quiles and Filomena Medina in Caguas, P.R.
Francisco is survived by his only son, Javier Lopez-Motta; a product of his marriage to Ana Motta Morales for 35 years. Frank was a loving and devoted father. A very noble and humble human being who loved God with all his heart and soul. He also leaves behind 1 grandchild, 1 sister (Maria Marcano), and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his foster family Mother Engracia Cotto, his brother Miguel, and 3 sisters Martha, Providencia, y Primitiva (Negra) Trinidad from a family who adopted and cared for him during his early childhood and young adult life.
Francisco served in the US Army proudly during the Korean War. He was a career electrician upon his discharge from the service and enjoyed the sport of baseball and boxing. Additionally, he loved to sing Christian hymns and traditional, folk, and popular music of Puerto Rico.
Frank will be greatly missed by all that knew him, he was always a gentleman and a great friend to all.
Full military honors and burial service will be 1:30 PM, Friday, March 17, 2023 at the Florida National Cemetery, 6502 SW 102nd Avenue, Bushnell, Florida with the US Army Honors and Ceremonial Team from Fort Stewart, Georgia and the American Legion Post 155 conducting the service.
