Frederick August Miller, 92, of Largo, FL, passed away on September 14, 2017. He was born in Sharon, PA and moved to Florida in 1961 from Boardman, OH.
During World War II, he served his country from 1943 through 1945 as a member of the United States Navy. He worked for the Clearwater Police Department for over twenty years as a Police Patrolman. After retiring, he then became a School Crossing Guard. He attended the Central Christian Church in Clearwater.
Fred loved children and his children and grandchildren were his priority. He played golf, was a member of the police baseball team and liked to bowl. He and his wife liked to travel and visited such places as England, Scotland and Alaska. Fred and his wife enjoyed going to Countryside Mall to walk, watch ice skaters, eat at the food court and buy scratch off lottery tickets.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Anna Miller and his wife of 67 years, Mary E. Miller, brothers Walter and Gordon Miller. He is survived by his daughters, Karen (Chuck) Lordo, Patricia (Frank) DeMascola, Cynthia Leigh Miller, Debra (Harry) Nugent and Kathie (Kurt) Bognar; sister, Mary Louise; brothers, Walt and Gordon; seven grandchildren, Leigh Ann, Michael, Adam, Jennifer, Stephanie, Maren and Tara; fourteen great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
