Fred L. Teitler, 68, of Tamarac, FL, formerly of Sunrise, FL (’84-’96) and Ft. Myers, FL (’96-’14) passed away at Hospice by the Sea at John Knox Village in Pompano Beach.
Born in Norfolk, VA he moved here from Old Bridge, NJ. He retired as a Bio Medical Equipment Supervisor for GE after 40 years. Fred was an Army veteran of the Vietnam Era serving with the MP Company in Germany. He was a member of the Bio Medical Engineering Society (BMES). He enjoyed bowling and softball, and coaching baseball and soccer.
Fred is survived by his wife of 45 years, Jodie; two sons: Mitchell (and fiancee, Vanessa Lewis), of Coral Springs, FL and Paul (and wife, Genia Schreiber); granddaughter, Jordyn Teitler, all of Edmond, OK; and sister, Fran Goldberg of Phoenix, AZ.
Graveside services with honors will be presented at South Florida National Cemetery, 6501 So. State Road 7, Lake Worth, FL 33449 with Rabbi Alan Sherman. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the National Parkinson Foundation.
