George Bowman Lawrence


George Bowman Lawrence II of Clearwater, Florida beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, passed away at age 91, at the Suncoast Hospice Center in Pinellas Park, Florida on May 1, 2022 following a short illness. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Louise Lawrence, daughter Kim Lawrence-Breuer (Les), daughter Kathy (Tom) Thomson, son George Lawrence III, daughter Kara Boykins, grandchildren Kyle (Julia), Maggie, Brittany (JJ), Karissa, Will, Miles, Jason and two great grandchildren Leo and Joey. He is also survived by his brother Frank (Bron) and Sandy Cleason, in addition to many nieces and nephews.
George was born in Lyons, New York on January 14, 1931 to Florence and George Lawrence and grew up in Palmyra, New York. George excelled at high school sports, and his passion for competition led him to a lifelong career as a teacher and coach.
George loved his retirement years on Cape Cod where he and Louise enjoyed traveling the world with friends. George will always be remembered for his generosity of spirit toward everyone fortunate to have known him. He will be dearly missed by so many lives he touched.
A memorial service will be held on May 14th at 2:30 at the Veterans Funeral Home located at 830 Belcher Road, Clearwater, Florida 33765.
