Gilbert A. Knerr was born July 10th, 1934 in Massillon, Ohio. He was employed as a mechanic in his early years until he relocated to Tampa, Florida. This was where he took his love of cars and become a salesman with his vast knowledge and charismatic personality, he excelled in this vocation.
As a husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, he was always there for his family with encouraging words and guidance. We will all miss his vibrant personality and zest for life. We all have memories of his many passions such as boating, fishing, golfing, various card games and poker nights. Unfortunately, in the last few years, his health had started to decline and he passed away May 30th, 2018, surrounded by family and friends.
He was preceded in death by father Perry Knerr, mother Ethel Cook and sons Michael and Eddie Knerr. He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years Dolores Knerr; children, Debbie Ryals, Terrie Huthmacher (Wade) Janette David, Jimmy Collier, Kim (Tim) Hoobler, John (Mandi) Knerr, Christina (Brent) Holbrooks; grandchildren, Tanya and Eugene Ryals, Tim and Todd Weiford, Jason and Josh David, Ashley Mack, Richard and Alex MacLean, Tayce, Tevin & Dennis Knerr, Kody & Salina Strebler. Shelby Holbrooks; he also had the pleasure of having five great grand children; and may longtime friends.
The family will be hosting a Celebration of Life Open House on Sunday, June 3, 2018. Starting at 1:00PM, friends may stop by the family house located at 15503 North Himes Ave, Tampa, FL 33618. There will also be a Celebration of Life in Ohio at on a date to be announced.

We are saddened to hear of this loss to your family. May God grant him a peaceful trip home to spend eternity with others who have passed before him. May our God also grant you and your family peace during this time of loss by allowing you to mourne his loss at the same time you celebrate his life with memories that last a lifetime for those he left behind.
