GIVENS, Harold died May 4, 2017 in Tampa. He was born in 1923 on a farm in Louisiana. He served in the Air Force during World War II, Korea, and Vietnam and retired as Major. He graduated from the University of Tampa, was a member of the Theta-Gamma Chapter of Phi Alpha Theta, and taught Senior English for 24 years at Brandon, Chamberlain, and Gaither high schools. He taught Sunday School at Forest Hills UMC for 39 years and was a member for 53. He was a Master Mason and a devoted 65 year member of Ashland Lodge #196 of Louisiana. He was preceded in death by Elvera, his wife of 53 years. He is survived by his son, Thomas (Marianne) and daughter Gwen, grandsons Kyle and Brian. He is also survived by his stepson Ron White (Pat), step-grandson Barry (Dawn), and step-greatgrandson Griffin. His ashes will be interred at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell.
