Harriet Carol Fish

Harriet Carol (nee Lucas) Fish, age 84, of St. Petersburg, Florida died November 4, 2025 following a long illness. On March 12, 1941, she was born in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.  On March 12, 1982 she married William Fish in Medina, Ohio. Together they shared more than 40 years of marriage; he preceded her in death by less than 24 hours on November 3, 2025. She is survived by her children Carl Lucy of Mesa, Arizona; Tim Lucy of Chardon, Ohio; Jeff Lucy of Kingsville, Ohio; Angela King of Hamilton, Ohio; and Matthew Lucy of Painesville, Ohio; as well as her stepson James (Stephanie) Fish of Wooster, Ohio and daughter Patricia (Brian) Stephens of Mayfield Heights, Ohio, as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family members. She was preceded in death by her twin brother, Harry Lucas; stepson, Glenn A. Fish of Wadsworth, Ohio; and grandson Evan Fish of Wooster, Ohio.

Harriet grew up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and retained her distinct Pittsburgh accent her entire life. She worked for many years as a waitress and then manager of Bob’s Big Boy and Shoney’s restaurants. Harriet moved from Brunswick, Ohio to St. Petersburg in 1987  and worked until retirement as a sales clerk for Dillard’s. Harriet was an amazing cook and loved to prepare meals for her family and spend time with them. She loved animals, especially dogs, and spent a great deal of time caring for her many dogs and birds; she especially loved her talking cockatiel, Hissy Bird.  She had a fantastic sense of humor and a quick wit; she continued to crack one-liners even as her health failed at the end of her life. She always had a smile and a kind word for her caregivers and was universally adored by her aides and nurses at Lexington Health and Rehabilitation, where she lived the last nearly three years of her life. The family wishes to express their deep appreciation to the many staff members at Lexington who cared for Harriet and assisted her husband when he visited her regularly. She will be buried with her husband, William Fish, at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Seville, Ohio
