Howard L Hawthorne


Howard L Hawthorne, age 87, of Dallas Texas passed away on March 11, 2024 at the Bayfront Hospital. On June 27, 1936 he was born in Dallas Hospital located in Dallas,TX to his late parents. His father was Carol W Hawthorne and his mother was Estaline Gregg Hawthorne. On January 1, 1985 he married Carol A. Hawthorne in St. Petersburg, FL. Together, they shared 39 years of marriage.

Survivors include his Wife Carol Hawthorne, his daughter, Veronica O’Brien and her Husband Michael O’Brien, his Grandson, James O’Brien, his daughter, Rene Wagliardo and Husband Rodney Wagliardo, his grandsons and Granddaughters Ryan, Ross, and Reane. His Step Son, Jim Halling and his Wife Melissa Halling, his two Step-grandsons Matthew and Bryce Halling. His step-sons, John Halling and Bob Klien (Gigi), as well as his granddaughter Jesse Klien.

He is preceded in death by: His parents, his brother, Gene Hawthorne, his sister, Helen Hawthorne, and his first wife Latrell Hawthorne.

Howard spent his work career managing a 7/11 store before entering the Navy where he served for 22 years. He also Bartended and worked at Golf Club. He was also a member of the Elks Club and American Legion
Howard lived in many States including Texas, Florida, California, Hawaii, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia. He loved Playing Golf, Walking on the beach, Bike Riding, Stained Glass Work, and RVing across the country! He will always be remembered for being an extremely talented man that was awesome at remodeling homes. His proudest achievements included building his house from the ground up and remodeling ton of different properties. He was also proud of his 22 years in the Navy as Chief Photographer on top of traveling the world. Those who knew him well will remember all the great things he had done and he will be forever missed by his friends and family.
