As she always loved to say, “Bindy, there’s only one!” On September 5, 2026, the world lost that one-of-a-kind spirit when Ina “Bindy” Fine, 86, passed away peacefully in Largo, Florida.
Born on February 24, 1940, in Paterson, New Jersey, Bindy spent her early life up north before the brutal winter of 1983 prompted a permanent change. Vowing never to endure another season in the cold, she packed up and relocated to sunny Largo in 1984, where she truly thrived.
Anyone who knew Bindy knew she found joy in dancing, gardening, taking long walks, and hunting for treasures at local garage sales. Blessed with an exceptional eye for design, she turned her bargain finds into beautiful floral arrangements, which she generously crafted and donated to a local nursing home for every holiday over many years. She was genuinely unforgettable.
She didn’t care much for conventional rules or expectations. She marched to the beat of her own drum, or as Frank famously sang, she did it her way.
Bindy is survived by her loving daughters, Kelly Ciardella and her husband Michael, and Amy Maltinos and her husband Stephen, as well as her wonderful grandchildren, Hunter and Chelsea. She was preceded in death by her parents and her two older brothers.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her memory to Suncoast Hospice.
