Ingeborg “Inge” Emmi Brinds


Ingeborg “Inge” Emmi Brinds, 85, of Seminole, passed away on August 30, 2017, at Arden Court of Seminole. She was born in Altena, Germany. She survived the occupation Germany during World War II. At age 17, she went to England to attend nursing school.  After completing her studies, she became a midwife and delivered babies in London.

She met her husband, Bill Brinds, while at a dance in England.  They were married for 62 years. Inge loved to travel and took the children all across Europe while they were growing up. The family settled in Dayton, OH and she worked at the Miami Valley Hospital until she left to raise the children.

Inge was a “snowbird” for over 20 years before moving here full time in 2011.  She ran a successful jewelry and antique business.  Inge loved the beach and go to the Tamarac pool to exercise. She also loved to plant flowers, go to garage sales and flea markets always scouring for the best deals and enjoyed playing cards, especially, double deck pinochle and euchre. She was always fashionable.

Inge was preceded in death by her parents, Fritz and Elsa Schroder. She is survived by her husband, Bill Brinds of Seminole, FL; son Frank Brinds of Seminole, FL; daughter, Anita C. Everhart of New Paris, OH; sister, Heidi Mitlelbach of Hagen, Germany; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

A graveside service has been scheduled for 11:00AM on Friday, September 15, 2017, at Florida National Cemetery.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers that a donation be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America.
