Irma Zarcone, 85, of Ocklawaha, passed away February 2, 2016 at her residence.
She was born December 16, 1930 in Danbury, Connecticut, a daughter of the late Arthur A. Mead and Elsie Foster Mead.
Irma was a member of the VFW in Changler, Florida and a member of the Eagles where she served as secretary.She was a member of St. Theresa’s Catholic Church in Belleview. She had been the owner of a convenience store in south Florida. Her family remembers her as a strong-willed, understanding, and generous woman. She was a wondeful mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Peter Zarcone, one brother:Clifford mead, and one sister: Jacquelyn Clady.
Survivors include 3 sons: Peter Zarcone and his wife, Karen of Ocala, Chris Zarcone of Montana, and David Zarcone of Summerfield, Florida ;3 daughters: Nancy Greaves of Ocklawaha, Sandra Anne Zarcone of Ocklawaha, and Delores Gutierrez and her husband, Sergio of Loxahatchee, Florida, 12 grandchildren, and 10 great- grandchildren.
A mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, February 11, 2016 at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 11528 US 301, Belleview, Florida 34420. Father David Vivero will be officiating. Burial will follow at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida.

My Husband and I had the pleasure of spending time with Ms.Irma alongside Nancy and Sandy in her final days.. She was an amazing woman with a beautiful heart. I sat beside her bed, holding her hand and just talking with her and listening to whatever was in her heart.. I sincerely cherished these moments with her, she was a genuine angel. My Husband and I send our deepest condolences to her entire family and offer our prayers that they may find peace and strength in knowing that she is no longer hurting and is at peace herself alongside her Husband….
