Ivonne Blackshaw, 76, formerly of Fayetteville, N.C. succumb to a long term illness on Oct 23 in St Petersburg, Florida surrounded by her loving family. Ivonne was born in 1945 to parents in Costa Rica. She moved to New York in the late 1960s and then North Carolina in the 1980s where she remained for 37 years in her dream home. She was a member of the local NAACP and an English as a Second language instructor at Central Carolina Community College. An avid crafts woman, she made many crafts including Angels, Christian book marks, crochet crosses and jewelry under the name of Vonn Shaw Creations which she shared with family and friends. Ivonne was always concerned about the homeless and spent her later years donating her time and efforts knitting hats and scarves, making bed mats from recycled plastic bags and providing gift bags of personal items to the local homeless shelter in Fayetteville, N.C.
Ivonne is survived by her four children, Angela, Pamela, Anthony and Dwayne; three brothers and a sister, nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

There are no words to express how much Ms.Ivonne meant to me..She was a woman of many layers deep compassion, guidance, friendship, love, giving, warmth and so much more. I still wake up and want to go across the street , because to see her could brighten any day. I miss her so much. I’m praying for the family. She was so proud of each of her children.
