James (Jim) B. Hallmeyer


It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of James (Jim) B. Hallmeyer, age 77, of Clearwater, Florida, who left us on January 22nd, 2025, at his home after an extended illness. Born on July 13th, 1947, in Colorado Springs, Colorado, Jim was the beloved son of Lawrence Hallmeyer and Florence Strain.

On September 19th, 2003, Jim married the love of his life, Cora Paunon, in Clearwater, Florida. Together, they shared a beautiful marriage lasting 22 years, filled with love and cherished memories. Jim’s legacy continues through his surviving family members including his devoted wife, Cora Hallmeyer, and his brother, John Hallmeyer. He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister who will welcome him on his journey.

Jim proudly served as a Gunner and a Sergeant E5 in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam era. His bravery and dedication to his country were honored with several awards and commendations, including the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with three Bronze Stars, Vietnam Campaign Medal with device, Good Conduct Medal, Presidential Unit Citation Medal, and Combat Air Crew Insignia.

Jim will be remembered as a compassionate and devoted husband, brother, and friend. His impact on those who knew him will be felt forever. A service will be held in his honor on Wednesday, January 29th, 2025  at Veterans Funeral Care with an interment at FL National Cemetery to follow. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
