VFC Obituary James Purdin Titrington

James P. “Jim” Titrington, 56, a director with CONMED/Linvatec, died suddenly of a heart attack on Christmas Eve at Largo Medical Center in Largo, FL.

Son of former naval Captain George, and Susanne Titrington (both deceased), Jim was born in Bethesda, Maryland on February 15, 1958 and grew up in Montgomery County, Maryland.   After completing his service in the US Navy, he graduated from North Carolina State University and received an MBA from Oklahoma University.  His career included various engineering functions and management positions, primarily in the medical device and pharmaceutical manufacturing field with such companies as Exxon Mobile, Michelin, GKN and Tyco.

Jim was devoted to his Christian faith, his wife and his family.  He enjoyed Classic Rock and Bluegrass music, and  played the fiddle and guitar.  He was an avid reader but also enjoyed the beach, bicycling and kayaking.

Preceded in death by a sister, Susan Wahle, he is survived by his wife, Juanell; his son, Jaron of Largo, FL;  four daughters: Rebecca of Hillsborough, NC, Hannah of Clearwater, FL, Dani-Lynne (Jason) Wright of Titusville, FL, Grace (Drew) Welborn of San Diego, CA; grandchildren, Stevie, Hannah, Lori-Anne, Brandon, Alexis and Ella; a brother John (Heather) Titrington of Southport, NC; sister, Rosemary Simonsen of Falls Church, VA; brother-in-law, Klaus Wahle of Fairfax, VA; and several nieces and nephews.

A time of celebrating Jim’s life will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, January 17, 2015 at Gulf Coast Church, 13301 Walsingham Road, Largo.
