Jane Elizabeth Simmons, 64 years old, of Dunedin Florida died on March 4, 2020 after several unsuccessful surgeries to save her. Born on February 20, 1956 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of John Wesley Ferguson and June Anne Vaupel. On July 23, 1983, she was married to Edward Paul Simmons by her grandfather John H. Ferguson at the First Primitive Methodist Church of Pittsburgh. Together they shared 28 years of marriage.
Survivors include her long-time partner Fred Clyne of Dunedin FL, Richard J and Josie Ferguson of Tarentum, PA and David W Ferguson and George F Sarofeen of Cincinnati, OH.
Jane was the first employee at Winn Technology Group where she worked for over twenty years and enjoyed many friendships at her office. She also loved to knit and crochet blankets for many newborns there and the community she knew.
Jane’s cremains are scheduled to be interred at Bay Pines National Cemetery in November 2020. A Celebration of Life was to be held on March 28, 2020 at 3:30pm at the Honeymoon Park Activity Center but due to the recent pandemic will be scheduled for a later date.
