Jim Hussey, 52, of Land O’ Lakes, FL, passed away on Tuesday, February 28, 2017, at St, Petersburg General Hospital. A Florida native, he was born in Tampa and graduated from Largo High School.
He worked for the Publix Supermarket Company for 37 years and retired from there just a few years ago. After he retired, and he was feeling well enough, he would love to visit stores and go in to see his Publix family.
Jim loved his family and was very proud of his sons, Ryan and Connor. He also loved football, especially the Florida Gators, and the Dallas Cowboys because his son Ryan was a Cowboy fan. NASCAR Racing was also a favorite pastime and he really liked Dale Sr. and Dale Jr.
He loved food and was really good at getting people to cook for him wherever he went. He also loved country music, southern rock and the mountains. Jim was very good at math and liked to solve problems, just like his son Connor does.
Jim didn’t like people to mess up his pantry. Publix made him very OCD with keeping the labels straight. He really loved to sit on his back patio and take naps and he also really enjoyed watching Walker, Texas Ranger.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Dottie Hussey. He is survived by his wife, Missy; sons, Connor and Ryan; daughter, Jacqueline; and his mother-in-law, Marcy Donat.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, March 13, 2017, at Idlewild Baptist Church, 18333 Exciting Idlewild Blvd., Lutz, FL, 33548. A visitation will start at 10:00AM and the Celebration of Life will commence at 11:00AM.
