John Charles Menzel Sr. entered peacefully into eternal rest on April 20th, 2022. He was 74 years old.
He was a true patriot. Enlisting in the Army at an early age and pledging along the way to work, work, work and advance in rank. John was a Military Policeman and a Corrections Sergeant while on active duty. He retired as a Sergeant First Class, E-7, in November of 1991 after 24 years of service. His awards and medals include: Overseas Service Ribbon (2), Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Service Medal w 1 silver star, Army Commendation Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, Army Achievement Medal w/ 2 oak leaf clusters, NCO Professional Development Ribbon (3), National Defense Service Medal w/ bronze star, Army Service Ribbon, Expert Badges in M-16 Rifle, Hand Grenade, and .45 Cal Pistol, and the Drill Sergeant Badge.
Ceremonies arranged by Veterans Funeral Care in Clearwater, FL. Graveside Services will be held at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery on Tuesday May 10th, 2022 at 1400hrs. Pastor Jan Putnam from Trinity Lutheran Church will officiate. Military Honors shall be rendered by the US Army Funeral Honors Team.

Sorry for your lose as I have gotten to know him from on-line gaming and also talking on the phone. I never met John but I feel like an old brother to talk to.
