John David Boykin, 77, funeral service is scheduled for Wednesday, March 20, 2019 @ 2 pm at the South Florida National Cemetery, 6107 State Route 7, Lake Worth Florida 33647 with the United States Air Force and the VFW Post 5335, to officiate. Please arrive at the cemetery between 1:30 PM and 1:45 PM parking in Lane # 3.
John was born at Dozier, Alabama on May 16, 1941 to J.B. and Gladys (Gibson) Boykin and passed away Trustbridge Hospice House in Del Ray Beach, Florida on October 26, 2018. During his military service, John was a Metal Protection Specialist (Sheet Metal) serving during the Vietnam War Era and served at Pease Air Force Base, New Hampshire. After his military service, John worked for 40 years as a sheet metal worker and drywall installer. He then worked for Advance Auto Parts delivering parts. He loved motorcycles and his cars’; loved to work and tinker on cars and was a very good “Shade Tree” mechanic. John loved to sit at Dunkin Donuts for a coffee and a donut and music from Johnny Cash and the 50ies like Chuck Berry
He is survived by his son, Jonathan D. Boykin of Hypoluxo, Florida; his sister, Mavis McKillop and his granddaughters, Trinity and Cierra Boykin and a loving extended family.
