GRICE, John George, 66, of Belleair, FL, passed away on December 4, 2013 at Bay Pines VA Healthcare System.
He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Barbara Jeanne; daughter, Amy Barto and her husband, Aaron; daughter, Jackie Remington and her husband, Pat; stepson, Scott Reid and his wife, Kari; stepdaughter, Cimberly Reid; sister, Marie Powers; six grandchildren, Nicole and Ali Barto, Jacob and Kyle Remington, Drake Reid, Jessica Mooney; and many great nieces and nephews.
John earned his Bachelor Degree in Accounting and Finance from St. Thomas Aquinas College and Engineering Degree in HVAC Engineering from Michigan State University. He was a national member of the American Society of Engineers specializing in mechanical disciplines.
John was the President and CEO of Thomas Mechanical Corporation, specializing in HVAC mechanical design and contracting and specializing in Federal and International corporate buildings, high-tech centers, and medical and computer centers in Michigan and the mid-west. He was a consultant and Financial Advisor for high-tech construction contracts and a Sr. Financial Analyst and Licensed IRS Advisor.
John served honorably in the U.S. Air Force Special Forces. He was proud to serve his country and was a full member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, AMVETS, and the American Legion.
A graveside service with full military honors will be presented by the American Legion Post #273 at 2:15 PM on Monday, December 23, 2013 at Bay Pines National Cemetery, 10000 Bay Pines Blvd., Bay Pines, FL 33744.
