Jose Luis “Guiso” Reyes Sr., 66, of Tampa, Florida funeral service is 3:00 pm, Saturday, July 23, 2016 at Southern Funeral Care, 10510 Riverview Drive, Riverview, Florida with Pastor Jose Rosado, to officiate. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:30 pm until service time. Burial will be at the Kingshill Cemetery, Kingshill, St Croix, US Virgin Islands and all service will be handled in St Croix by the James Memorial Funeral Home, 6 AA Estate LaGrande Princess, Christiansted, St Croix US Virgin Islands # 00820 and the phone number is 340-718-8663. Funeral Services will take place on Friday, July 29, 2016 at Iglesia Hermanos Unidos en Cristo de Zion (Castle Coakley), viewing at 9:00AM and service at 10:00AM. Interment will follow at Kingshill Cemetery Veteran Section.
A native of Vieques, Puerto Rico and a local resident since 1986, when he moved here from St Croix, US Virgin Islands. Guiso was an electrical engineer and graduated with a Bachelor Degree after completing his US Army service to our nation. During his US Army career during the Vietnam War, he was awarded the National Defense Medal; Vietnam Service Medal with 2 Bronze Stars; Vietnam Campaign Medal with 1960 device; Combat Infantryman Badge; Good Conduct Medal; US Army Commendation Medal; Air Medal with 2 Overseas Bars; Expert M-14 Badge and the Marksman M-16 Badge. He was of the Catholic faith and was a loving husband, father, brother and grandfather.
Guiso is survived by his immediate family; his wife, Norma; sons: Andres Reyes and his wife, Kacey and Jose Luis Reyes Jr. and his wife, Sandra; his daughter, Nadya Quinones; grandchildren: Jonathan, Andres Jr., Lianna, Bailey, Parker, Olivia, Sophia, Samuel, Zion, Noah and Jonah. He is also survived by his siblings; brothers; Carlos, Jose Carlos, Juan, Diego, Jesus, Daniel: sisters; Patricia, Maria, Milagro, Nora, Lucy, Raquel, Vilma and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.

He was the center of every party, but he meant well, his heart was warm and soft like butter.
I have never met a person like him, he was such an emotional person that he would cry at weddings, birthdays, family gatherings and singing En Mi Viejo San Juan. His tears have been of joy. I will miss
