Save a place for the rest of the 38th TRS, Jose. As the world’s greatest First Sergeant, that should be a piece of cake for you!
My wife Connie and I were both in the AF and in the 38th TRS.
Jose was our First Sgt. He was a great First shirt, always had a great smile and greeting. He actually did some auto body repair on our car once after getting hit by some deer coming up the hill from Contwig. I ended up staying in the AF for 30 years and Connie became a High School teacher.
We have such great memories of Germany and of serving with Jose. We send our thoughts and prayers to all of your family.
All our very best,
Terry & Connie Bushnell
Our deepest condolences to Zulma and son. We enjoyed many parties with Zulma and Jose, especially when he sang.
Prayers for the family may God give you strength and provide you with peace.
Jose thank you for your service, and may you rest in peace.
With sympathy and love
Raul & Pilar
My father Willie was saddened to learn of the passing of Sgt Zayas as he too was at the 38th TRS. As a teenager I worked with Zulma in the Civilian Personnel Office & to this day she remains one of my favorite “bosses,” always so kind & willing to share her knowledge. Our condolences to Zulma & son Ray.
