Jose Ruben Mayorga Ruana entered into eternal rest on August 22, 2020. He was just 35 years old.
‘Ruben’ as he was affectionately known was always someone who would light up the room. With his big smile and contagious positivity he shared an energy that seemed to never end.
He spent 4 years on active duty in the United States Army as Cannon Crewmember (13B) finishing his duties with Battery B, 20th Field Artillery Battalion out of Fort Campbell, KY. Awards and commendations include Iraq Campaign Medal w/ 3 campaign stars, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War On Terrorism Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon (2), Combat Action Badge, and Air Assault Badge.
Ruben leaves behind a loving family who are deeply saddened by his unexpected departure from their lives. Surviving family include his mother Nora Mayorga-Ruana; father Robert Linares, sisters Natasha, Alana, Arleen; nephew Jeremy and many more relatives who will always miss him.
Services and Ceremonies are being arranged by Veterans Funeral Care in Clearwater, FL. Memorial Service will take place at Veterans Funeral Care (830 N. Belcher Rd) on Friday September 4th, 2020 at 11:00am. Thereafter, his interment will be amongst his veteran brothers at Bay Pines National Cemetery (St. Petersburg) at 1:30pm. Military Honors will be performed by the US Army Funeral Honors Team.
