Joseph A. Yannerella Sr., 76, of St. Petersburg, Florida was born on May 17, 1943 in Youngstown, Ohio to Alfred and Virginia (Pagley) Yannerella. Joseph passed away at the Hospice Center-Mid Pinellas Care Center in Pinellas Park, FL on July 12, 2019.
Joseph was a former policeman and a retired nurse in the health care industry. He was a member of the VFW in Madeira Beach, Florida, a Catholic and a United States Marine Corps Veteran serving during the Vietnam Era. During his time with the Marine Corps, Joseph served as a steward/cook and was qualified as a Marksman, Rifle Cal. 7.62 mm and M-14. He was awarded the Good Conduct Medal for his four years of service with the Marine Corps being discharged from Paris Island USMC Base in South Carolina.
Joseph is survived by his loving family: his wife, Lynn Yannerella of St. Petersburg, Florida; three sons; Joseph Yannerella of Parma, Ohio, Louis Yannerella of Youngstown, Ohio and Anthony Yannerella of Youngstown, Ohio; four daughters; Kiera Barwiler of Youngstown, Ohio, Donea Yannerella of Youngstown, Ohio, Paula Sopovich of Youngstown, Ohio and Deanna Kupec of Youngstown, Ohio; a brother, Alfred Yannerella of Cincinnati, Ohio; two sisters: Gloria Socciarelli of Ocala, Florida and Phyllis Ianazone of Columbus, Ohio and thirteen grandchildren.
