Josephine Ann Malik Cochrane “Joan” of Margate, FL (March 19, 1922-December 26, 2014).
Joan spent 92 years coloring the world with love to her family and working as an interior designer in Cleveland, OH. She loved working with stencils and painting and enjoyed music. Later, she owned and operated Mark’s Piano & Organ Company in Youngstown, OH with her belated husband, H. Mark Cochrane (please visit his page on this website). She also worked for GE during WWII and she loved gardening and painting.
She was a loving sister and was preceded in death by her brothers, Leonard J. and William E. Malik, her parents Frank and Mary Malik, her grandson William M. Laube, and cousin, Donald Plzak.
Joan was a beloved mother of Beth Laube of Plainview, NY and Mark K. Cochrane of Margate, FL. She was a proud grandmother to Grace Marie Lintz, Mark Allen Cochrane and Christina Elizabeth Laube. Her cherished great grandchildren are Aiden Lintz, Cheyenne Lintz and Mark J. Schoen-Cruz. Joan is also survived by her special nieces, Donna Olsen of Tempe AZ, Marlene Pollack of Fairport Harbor, OH and nephew, William T. Malik of Woodmere, OH, as well as Joan Zelenin, her namesake of Bloomington, IN and Forrest and Paul Rose of Phoenix, AZ. Joan is survived by George Plzak and Doris Plzak Gilbert.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Cemetery, 1500 South State Road 7, No. Lauderdale, FL.
