Josephine Judy Ingrassia, an amazing and dynamic woman passed away on May 12th,
2019. She was 96.
Born in Worcester, Massachusetts to the late Gaetano and Rosa LaMantea on May 9th, 1923,
moved to New York City as a teenager, and with her husband, mother, and son to Florida in
1963.
She made her way through school, married, and worked for the US Civil Service and later in retail sales.
She is predeceased by her parents and her husband Captain Paul F. Ingrassia, Sr., whom she
married in March of 1943. Her survivors include their son, Paul F. Ingrassia Jr. and a loving
family. Her faith in God and family were most important to her. She was open to all, giving, and
easily earned the respect and liking of others.
Josephine’s home church is St. John Vianney Catholic Church in St. Pete Beach. Deacon Richard Santallow performed her final funeral blessings. Josephine, a devoted wife, mother, and daughter, was laid to rest in a niche next to her husband and mother at Woodlawn Memory Gardens (101 58th St. S.) in St. Petersburg.
