In Loving Memory of Julie: A Mother, Sister, Aunt, Friend
With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Julie Andrews Rosas, of Temple Terrace, a beloved mother, sister, and aunt, cherished friend, and esteemed Nurse Practitioner, who departed this world on April 12th, 2024. Julie’s life was a testament to love, compassion, and service, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew her.
She is survived by her two daughters Emily Rosas and Dr. (Major) Melissa Rosas, brother Curtis Andrews, sister Tammy (Jim) Clark, and brother Daniel Andrews, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was raised in Beloit, Wisconsin, and she received her Nursing Degree at the University of Wisconsin-Madison prior to moving to Tampa, Florida. She then received her Master’s Degree in Nursing from the University of South Florida.
For over four decades, Julie dedicated herself to the noble profession of nursing, serving with distinction at the Tampa VA Hospital. Her unwavering commitment to the well-being of her patients and our nation’s heroes was matched only by her compassion and empathy, making her a source of comfort and healing during their times of need.
In addition to her professional pursuits, Julie was an extraordinary woman of many passions. A skilled seamstress with Sweet Darlings and Bernina, her nimble fingers wove tales of love and warmth into every stitch, creating cherished memories that will be treasured for generations to come.
Julie’s adventurous spirit knew no bounds. A lover of travel, she roamed the globe with an insatiable curiosity, seeking out new experiences and forging connections with people from all walks of life. Her zest for life and thirst for adventure inspired all who had the privilege of accompanying her on her journeys.
Above all, Julie was a devoted mother whose love knew no bounds. Her daughters were the light of her life, and she poured her heart and soul into nurturing and guiding them with wisdom, patience, and unconditional love. She also cherished her continued friendship with the Magnolias. Her legacy of love will continue to live on in the hearts of her daughters and family and all who were touched by her presence.
Though Julie may no longer grace us with her physical presence, her spirit will forever illuminate our lives with memories of her love, laughter, and boundless generosity. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
May she rest in eternal peace, surrounded by the love and light she brought into the world.
There will be a celebration of life on Saturday April 27, please reach out to Melissa Rosas for details. Per her wishes, she will be buried at sea in a private ceremony.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Fisher House affiliated with Tampa VA Hospital in support of our Veterans in memory of Julie Rosas.

Julie, I still remember meeting you for the first time when you visited Melissa in Sacramento when we were in residency. You cooked amazing Cuban food for us (mmm I’ll never forget the yucca and onions!). You were so kind, always smiling and laughing, pure joy. You loved to sew and made so many beautiful things for others to cherish. We miss you and love you dearly. You’ll always be remembered :)
She was an amazing woman. The true definition of selfless. I’m grateful that my family got to know her.
We wish to express our deepest condolences to the family
