Karen (Brazee) Marcotte of St. Petersburg, Florida, departed this life on December 25th, 2021, at the age of 73, with her son and daughter-in-law by her side. She was born on November 11th, 1948, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to Marcel and Geraldine Brazee.
Karen grew up in Whiteland, Indiana and graduated from Whiteland Community High School. She spent many of her childhood years at The Greenwood Drive-in Theater owned by her parents, Marcel and Geraldine. Karen attended Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana before her employment with The Brougher Agency. In the early 1980s, Karen moved to Florida, where she eventually wed Francis “Jack” Marcotte on April 9th, 1983. Jack and Karen owned an insurance company, All Risk Administrators, and were involved in the insurance industry until 2008. Karen was a member of the American Legion and enjoyed reading, traveling, family, and NASCAR.
Karen and Jack were married for 36 years before his passing on February 15th, 2019. She is survived by her son, Evan Marcotte (Lana), of Lakewood Ranch, Florida; her stepson, Christopher Charette (Angela), of Jonesboro, Arkansas and her step-grandson, Zachary Charette (Sydney), of Jonesboro, Arkansas. She was predeceased by her stepdaughter, Shannon Dome (Don), of Chicago, Illinois. Karen is also survived by her loving sister, Marcia Mackey, of Venice, Florida.
Karen’s Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, January 28th, 2022, at 11 a.m. at Bay Pines National Cemetery in St. Petersburg, Florida.
