Kenneth Edward Blinkal

Kenneth Edward Blinkal, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, peacefully passed away on April 14, 2025, at Morton Plant Hospital in Clearwater, Florida, due to complications from kidney disease and heart failure. He was born on July 20, 1941, in Chicago, Illinois, where he spent his formative years surrounded by the rich culture and bustling life of the city.

Ken was the cherished son of Edward Vincent and Mary T. (Miller) Blinkal, who preceded him in death. He was united in marriage to his loving wife Suzanne M. Blinkal on September 18, 1965, marking the beginning of a beautiful partnership that lasted nearly six decades. Together, they raised three wonderful children: Francis Edward Blinkal, Kevin Michael Blinkal, and Patricia Ann Guevara. Ken took immense pride in his family, and his legacy continues through his five adoring grandchildren: Kenny, Aidan, Austin, Keilah, and Nalani.

Ken’s life was a remarkable tapestry woven with diverse experiences. He dedicated many years to serving his community, first as a driver for the Chicago Sun Times Newspaper, then as a Chicago Police Officer, and later embarking on various careers as a truck driver and car salesman, ultimately becoming a manager. Throughout his professional life, Ken exemplified hard work and integrity, qualities that endeared him to those who knew him.

Ken was not just a man of work; he was a man of passion. His love for fishing and golf was evident, as he could often be found on the water or the golf course, enjoying the serenity of nature and the thrill of the game. A true sports and music enthusiast, he found joy in following his favorite teams and attending concerts, often sharing these experiences with his loved ones.

Throughout his life, Ken lived in Chicago, Arizona, and Florida, each place adding to the richness of his life’s journey. He was a proud member of his community, always ready to lend a helping hand and bring a smile to those around him. He is survived by his brother, Richard Blinkal, and his mother-in-law, Isabelle Blinkal, both of whom held a special place in his heart.

As we remember Kenneth, we acknowledge the tremendous impact he had on our lives. His kindness, humor, and unwavering love will be deeply missed but fondly remembered. Kens’ family would like to acknowledge and give a thank you to all the healthcare professionals at Morton Plant Mease Health Care Foundation, Mease Dunedin Hospital, Mease Countryside Hospital, Madonna Ptak Morton Plant Rehabilitation Center, and the Fresenius Dialysis Center, organizations that provided care during his final days.

Ken leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and resilience that will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. May he rest in peace, embraced by the love he so freely gave.
