Joe was a high school classmate and a good friend. I will certainly miss him at our class reunions and on his yearly trips to New Jersey.

Joe, you will be greatly missed! You made our lives easier at the park, by being such a great volunteer, and devoting your free time to help in the toll booth, and at the Nature center. I know how much you loved being out there, and I/we enjoyed having you there! Also, you were a friend to me, and others at the park, and you are/were someone who cared about so many people! Thank you for everything, and for having such a big heart, and being the great man that you were! My deepest sympathy and condolences go out to your family, and my thoughts and prayers are with them at this most difficult time. May their memories of you comfort them,( and all of us who knew you) and help them, and us, to celebrate your life, even though we are all grieving your passing. I hope you are with your Pattys’ now. Good bye my friend. Gina (from HISP)
This is to Jo and Melissa,
I want to give you both and your entire family, our sympathies about your Dad’s passing.
We met your Dad at a Atlantic City Surf baseball game in 2006. My son Joey played for the Surf. Your Dad started mailing me photos and videos of Joey playing. I got a lot of packages of photos and VHS tapes from your Dad, which was very cool because we live in St. Petersburg and could only get to a few of the games.
I’ve never forgotten his generosity, and believe it or not, I was about to write to him to tell him how far Joey got in baseball after playing for the Surf. I have his address on N. Annapolis Ave. right here in the top drawer of my desk, clipped from one of the packages he sent.
I saw your Dad’s obit in the Tampa Bay Times newspaper (I have a habit of reading the obits every day. Yeah, it’s a weird habit.) But that’s when I saw his name and figured that was him. I guess he had moved to Dunedin at some point. Too bad I never wrote to him, I would have met him in Dunedin to say hello.
My Dad just passed on May 31 so I know your pain. I will remember to make a donation to the Toys For Tots program this Christmas.
