LeRoy J. Ross (Lee), beloved husband and father, left this life on March 22, 2018. A native of Red Oak, IA, Lee was born on February 6, 1940 and resided in Lutz.
He is survived by his wife Mary; daughters Stephanie Ross, Andrea Fischer and Diane Stark; stepsons James, Daniel (Lois) and Thomas (Yong Suk) Yant; stepdaughter Justine (Phil) Johnston; 16 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Rosetta Greenfield and Catherine Ross and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Tuesday, March 27 from 10:00 – 11:00am; Funeral services will be at 11:00-11:45am at Christ Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Temple Terrace, 304 Druid Hills Road, Temple Terrace, FL 33617 with interment at Bushnell National Cemetery at 2:30pm, 6502 SW 102nd Ave., Bushnell, FL 33513.
Relatives who have died before him include his mother and father, Margaret and Leland Ross, an infant brother, Charles, and 2 sisters, Patricia Karnish and Grace Ross.
Lee served in the Air Force as an Airman first Class and Airborne Radio Repairman and spent time as a technician on the USNS Sword Knot, from 1958 to 1963 and worked for IBM as an Application Programmer until his retirement.
Lee was a talented man who was a stained glass artist and bowler, achieving a 300 game, and was an expert handyman, who could fix anything and was a caring husband and father.
He was a church leader with the Stephen Ministry service and would help others wherever he was needed.
You’re in our prayers for comfort, Mary. You and Lee were dear to us when we lived in Florida and were COR members. Lee’s humble heart loved big.
