Leslie J. Zarcone passed away at his home in Clearwater Florida on Wednesday May 20th, 2015 with his devoted wife and loving daughters at his side.
Les was born in Queens New York on August 24th, 1944. He moved to Greenville in 1958 and was a graduate of GCS. He served in the US Army and was a Vietnam Veteran.
Les was a hard working man and had a love for woodworking, he was very creative and a true artist. He excelled at everything he did. He moved to Florida in 2003 where he enjoyed playing golf and going to garage sales and cooking for his family. Les was a member of Unity Church of Clearwater.
Leslie is survived by his wife of 47 years Beverly (Lien) Zarcone, two daughters Heather Zarcone of Altamonte Springs, Fl. and Holly Zarcone~Alston of Clearwater Fl, son in law James Alston and two grandchildren Mathias and Ella Alston, three brothers Raymond Zarcone and wife Dianne Zarcone of Saugerties, NY, Kenneth Zarcone and wife Sandra of Greenville NY, Jack Giovaniello and wife Colleen of Freehold NY and two sisters Patricia DeSano of Oceanside, NY and Laura Wiley of Greenville NY , many nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends.
Leslie was pre-deceased by his parents Laura Giovanniello and Salvatore (Ray) Zarcone, step father Jack Giovanniello and step mother Rosemary Zarcone and brother Russell Zarcone.
Les left a lasting impression on many and will be deeply missed. In lieu of flowers please make donations in Leslie’s name to Suncoast Hospice Foundation at 5771 Roosevelt Boulevard Clearwater Florida 33760.
Service is at 3:30 PM, Saturday, June 13, 2015 at the Unity Church, 2465 Nursery Road, Clearwater, FL.

Beverly and family: I am so very sorry Leslie is gone. I remember him so well and he was so kind to my brother and my mother. My Mom especially enjoyed his visits. His wordworking items are still here at the house in Greenville. You all were so lucky to have him in your life. But know he will always be with you. My sympathy to you all.

We’re so saddened to learn of the death of Les–loving husband and father, and great friend to Irene. Les was always doing thoughtful things for Irene such as finding books for her at garage sales, cooking her a delicious Thanksgiving dinner, and being her friend. Irene was so appreciative of Les’s kindness that I used to tease her by saying “Les is more!” and she always agreed. All the thoughtful things Les did will be remembered by our family and Irene. Sorry for your loss. He was a really good person whom I have met while he was a bartender in Freehold New york. I have known his brother Ken for a lot of years who had introduced my husband and I to Les. We both send our condolence to you and your family.

To the Zarcone family; We met Les when we moved to Florida five years ago. At first he was our go to Mr.Fix-it, but soon he was a trusted and valued friend. I’m at Peace that I came down to see Leslie on Moms birthday April 24 th. I feel she had something to do with it.

I was so sorry to hear of les passing away but he is no longer suffering. Ill never forget the last time I saw him when I was invited to have dinner with all of you.He is now in a better place with the Lord I will always remember his smile and all the good work he did for people. so very sorry and sad to learn Les has gone to heaven. Les had worked for us at Morton’s Pub and was loved by Jim and my self. i will never forget him.!!! my deepest sympathy to his family. Les carved out my name in wood and it sits on my desk….good memory of him.!!!RIP my friend.
