Linda A. Rady, 74, of Largo, Florida passed away peacefully on November 25, 2020 at Suncoast Hospice in Pinellas Park, Florida.
She was born October 22, 1946 in Jackson Mississippi to James Avery Adams and Mary Kathleen White. Linda Adams and John Rady met on St. Patrick’s Day 1975 in Birmingham, Alabama and were married on October 24 of the same year in Seminole Florida. They enjoyed 45 years of marriage together.
Survivors include her husband John T. Rady and her sister Mary Adams Bradley. Linda was predeceased by her parents and younger brother, Robert Avery Adams
Linda was a member of Northport Baptist Church in Northport, AL. and later Dawson Memorial Baptist Church in Birmingham, AL. Linda was also a member of Tampa Bay Buccaneers Band, and performed with the local Sweet Adelines singing group. And along with her husband, Linda was a member of the Alfa Romeo Owners (car) Club.
Always someone who wanted to learn, Linda graduated from Tuscaloosa County High School, Northport, AL (in 1964), J. P. Shelton State Vocational Technical School, Tuscaloosa, AL (in 1965), and St. Petersburg Eckerd Collage’s Program for Experienced Learners in 1984, there earning a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Administration Management. She also had a noteworthy working career thru the years including positions with Jack Eckerd Corportation, Concept Incorporated, University of Tampa, Consumer Credit Counselling Service Incorporated, and Linington and Berg Ameriprise Financial Advisors.
One of Linda’s most important work-related accomplishments occurred while working at Consumer Credit Counselling Service. There she developed and administered an educational program that took a proactive approach to debt management, debt avoidance, and alternatives to bankruptcy. In her position as Director of Education she visited numerous regional high schools, prisons, and other organizations and institutions doing presentations on budgeting, managing credit card debt, and strategies for avoiding bankruptcy. On a personal level, she was very proud to have learned how to play the clarinet at middle age and proud to have subsequently passed an auditioned to join the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Band. There she performed at numerous NFL home games, pep-rallies, and team promotions.
Linda loved to travel and with her husband traveled to every State in the Union, including Hawaii and Alaska, as well as many Canadian provinces. These travels were almost all by car and sometimes with the “top down” in an Alfa Romeo. Linda and John loved nature and history and made it a point to see as many National Parks, museums, and UNESCO sites as possible during all their travels. After retirement, their travels extended to Western Europe, England, Scandinavia, and South America by way of motorcoach (bus) tours, as well as multiple ocean and river cruises. She also enjoyed being co-pilot to her private pilot husband. Their flying trips included numerous “$100 hamburger” flights throughout Florida, as well as a few long-distance flights to visit her sister in Birmingham, Alabama and Michigan to visit her husband’s brother and sister. She was an avid reader of mystery novels and enjoyed puzzles, crossword puzzles, as well as electronic card games like Spider, Solitaire, and FreeCell.
Graveside Services will be held at Florida National Cemetery on Friday December 18, 2020 at 11:30 am. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Linda’s name to your favorite charity, church, etc..
Born in the same hospital in Jackson, MS three months apart and then meeting in seventh grade in the little town of Northport, AL, only God knew that you would become a dear friend and the sister I never had. You were always there, especially introducing me to Chuck. Many wonderful memories.

My deepest condolences to John an his family. Wow! What a beautiful tribute to such a beautiful soul. I am honored to say that Linda and her beloved husband have been my wonderful neighbors since I moved across the street from them in 1982. I learned a lot more about her, after reading this tribute, as they were, like was written, always flying around, vacationing everywhere and enjoying life to the fullest! It made me smile to read, in this tribute, all of her accomplishments, especially the one of her being a Tampa Bay Buccaneer band member! So darn cool! I wish I could have seen her play in that band and more. I will miss her sweet smiles and waves. Linda was a soft spoken woman with a sweet southern voice and personality. The angels are rejoicing with her joining them in her new home. I’m sure I will see her again. God Bless John and her family.
