He graduated from St. Peters College and was a home furnishings executive at Home Shopping Network, Marshall Fields and Montgomery Ward. Louis served with the U.S. Army in Vietnam and received the Bronze Star, Air Medal and National Defense Service Medal.
He was predeceased by his parents and sister Deborah Balkus. He is survived by sisters Denise Dorn and Donna Schultz and his only child, his daughter Karen E. Schultz PhD MPH.
After traveling and living all over the world, Louis finally settled down in Palm Harbor fl, where he would achieve his dream of retiring by the beach. Lou’s favorite activity was a simple long long walk, on the beach, by the lake or even just around his neighborhood. Louis shared his passion for good food and fine wine with his daughter who he installed not only good values and life lessons, but the joy of cooking as well. Lou would spend hours in the kitchen with his daughter making homemade pasta and sauce, and then enjoying it with a fine bottle of wine. Louis Schultz leave this world a little better then when he found it, and will be dearly missed.
