Lynn Yannerella, 68, of St. Petersburg, FL, passed away on September 14, 2025. Born on September 30, 1956, in Youngstown, Ohio, Lynn was the beloved daughter of Frank and Beverly Homsey (Kantor). On September 29, 1989, she married the love of her life, Joseph Yannerella Sr., with whom she shared 30 wonderful years of marriage until his passing in 2019.
A dedicated nurse for 35 years, Lynn was known for her compassion, strength, and commitment to caring for others. She was also a loving mother, daughter, and sister whose vibrant spirit left a mark on everyone she met. Lynn is survived by her daughters, Kiera Barwiler and Donae Yannerella.
Lynn brought joy and laughter wherever she went. Feisty, fun, and full of life, she found her peace at the beach, soaking up the sun and salt air.
Lynn will be interred at Bay Pines National Cemetery alongside her husband at a later date.
Donae and Kiera your mother was an amazing lady. I worked with her many years at the jail as appear and then as her supervisor. She was definitely a feisty woman. I learned a lot from her and loved her even more every time we spoke. She loved you girls and spoke of you both often the world was a brighter place with your mom here she will definitely be missed.
I am so saddened to learn of Lynn’s passing. She was my brightest star in any dark time during our growing up years. Even into parenting Lynn was my life coach. Lynn found the rainbow in any storm, an eternal “glass half full” person. Lynn, thank you for being my guitar partner, Girl Scout friend, bike riding teammate, and sister. No one can ever replace you and our memories. Sympathy to Kiera and Donae.
