Madeline Dora Ruthenberg (nee Mansfeld) was born October 22, 1924 in Detroit, Michigan to Otto and Marie Mansfeld. She died March 15, 2017 in Largo, Florida after a brief illness.
Madeline worked at the Broadway Market in downtown Detroit where she met the love of her life, Elmer. They were married July 11, 1948 and would have celebrated 69 years of marriage this year.
Madeline was a working mother and worked for many years in retail. She had a gift for music and loved playing the piano and organ. She instilled in her children the values they would need to find success in their lives.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband Elmer. She is survived by daughters Diane (Richard) Sargent, Suzanne (James) Nawrot, sons David, William (Kara) and Joel; six grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and many more family and friends.
To the Ruthenberg family. Our prayers and condolences for your tremendous loss. Your Mom and Dad have always been a Mother and Father to me throughout my life. They have touched the hearts of so many and will be missed by all. We are the lucky ones that have had the opportunity to have our life touched and guided by both for so many years. Rest in peace with your beloved Al, your journey will continue together.
